Could my symptoms be coronavirus?

The most common symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • New and persistent cough

  • High temperature

If you or someone within your household has either of these symptoms you must stay at home.

I think I have had contact with someone with coronavirus, what should I do?

If the person you have come into contact with does not live within your household and you are not symptomatic, then you are not required to isolate. Continuing to observe good infection control measure are advised. Are always you should:

  1. Avoid touching your eyes, nouse or mouth. Even if your hands are clean

  2. Always have hand sanitiser with you and wash hands regularly

  3. Wear PPE when at the workplace or any confined environments outside your household

Iā€™m unsure if I need to isolate or how long for. What is the guidance for isolation?

If you live alone and have symptoms of Covid-19, however mild, you must stay at home for 7 days from when your symptoms started.

If you live with others and are the first in your household to have symptoms, then you must stay at home for 7 days, but all other household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.

If I think I have coronavirus, how should I self-isolate?

  • Stay at home

  • Work from home if possible, else let your employer know

  • Ask for favours from friends or family to aid with shopping and other necessities

  • Stick to recommended distances when having visitors to your door
